Since 1983, Footloose DJ Entertainment has been providing the area's highest quality mobile DJ entertainment. No two events are exactly the same, and we will work with you to customize the performance to meet your needs and expectations.

We are a diversified, multi-system company that provides you with benefits that separate our services from others. Our DJs have many years of experience, playing for a variety of age groups and for a multitude of events. Whether you are planning a wedding reception, wedding ceremony, class reunion, birthday party, company dinner, or school dance, we have the expertise to make your event the special occasion that it deserves to be. The Footloose team is comprised of John Lawson, Bob Lawson, Leah Lawson, John Rabold, and Steve Haskell. John and Bob Lawson began their entertainment careers in 1983, and Leah joined the company in 1990. John Rabold, our Indianapolis-based disc jockey, has been with us since 1994, and Steve Haskell has been a part of the company since 1987.

We also have young disc jockeys that are learning their craft and are available for teen events. We do not, however, assign a DJ in training for wedding receptions, class reunions, or any other event for which experience is mandatory.

Footloose uses only professional-grade equipment that we own. We are fully insured and have our own backup equipment at our disposal. These factors add additional piece of mind for you, our client.

Whether your event is going to be held at a small venue, or a larger site such as Hulman Center or the Providence Center at St. Mary-of-the-Woods, we can provide quality entertainment at the proper volume level. For large events, we can provide larger setups to properly disperse the sound.

Venues that we often perform include: St. Mary-of-the-Woods, St. George Social Center, Idle Creek Banquet Center, the Ohio Building, The Landing at Fort Harrison, LeFer Hall, Holiday Inn, Krietenstein American Legion, Plumbers & Steamfitters, Meadows Banquet Center, Operating Engineers Union Hall, the Shrine, and the Marine Corp. League, along with a host of others. We often perform in Brazil, Indiana, at locations such as Traditions, Renaissance, the 4H Fairgrounds, and the Elks Lodge. Other cities that we frequently perform are Clinton, Covington, Farmersburg, Greencastle, Linton, Mansfield, Rockville, Sullivan, and Vincennes, in Indiana. As the demand for exceptional quality disc jockey entertainment has increased in recent years, we are also booked for receptions and events held in Indianapolis, Bloomington, and Plainfield.

In Illinois, we perform regularly in Casey, Charleston, Effingham, Marshall, Olney, Paris, Robinson, and other towns.

Should you need help in locating a venue, we can offer assistance as we have performed at virtually every location in the bi-state area, from small to very large events. We can also direct you to the highest quality bridal and event coordinators, cake decorators, photographers, and live bands. In fact, our services are often combined with a live band, and we have performed at wedding receptions with well known bands lead by Don Morris, Duke Tumato, and others. The band can provide live music, while Footloose can provide you with exceptional dance music with an emcee to entertain all of your guests.

In addition to offering expert disc jockey services, Footloose also has lighting systems and karaoke available. We have several lighting system options that will illuminate your dance floor with color-changing lights that move to the beat of the music. Our lighting system helps add color and mood to your dance floor area, plus allows you to dim or turn off overhead white lighting, making your dance floor more conducive to dancing. Other available options include the area’s largest mirror ball as well as special effects lighting. Just imagine your reception hall as it darkens, while the bride and groom dance under the stars – with our new laser lighting effects, we can create this scene for you indoors!

Should you or your guests like to sing, we offer karaoke as an option. You may wish to have a karaoke-only party, or mix in karaoke with dancing. While virtually anyone with equipment can be a karaoke operator, it requires special skills and experience to be a disc jockey for an event as important as your wedding reception or special party. We do much more than simply play music.

We can also provide a bubble machine, fog machine, and more. Not all facilities permit the use of bubbles or fog, making it imperative to get permission from the venue management. Should you need a video projector, we can guide you in the right direction.

The Footloose music library is comprised of the latest radio hits, along with the greatest music of the big band era, to music from the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000’s, to today’s latest hits. We feature top 40, rock, hip hop, and country. We legally purchase all of our music and own the entire Time Life Music library. We have dance craze favorites such as the Cupid Shuffle, Cha Cha Slide, Macarena, Electric Slide, the Chicken Dance, YMCA, and many more. We realize that some clients wish to include many audience participation songs, while others prefer not to have any. With Footloose, the choice is yours.

We have performed for a who’s who of clients. Our services are in great demand for brides and grooms that seek the highest quality entertainment for their special day. Some of our corporate clients include First Financial Bank, Old National Bank, Terre Haute Savings Bank, Regional Hospital, Union Hospital, Sony DADC, Bemis, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, ISU, St. Mary-of-the-Woods, Ivy Tech, and a host of others. Our company has also been used as a reference source by the Vigo County Public Library when their internal sources cannot answer a question. We’ve also contributed to the A&E and Biography Channel’s programming for the cable program “Biography.”

A-1 Photo Booth Now Available!

Footloose DJ Entertainment, the Wabash Valley’s leading DJ service since 1983, has added a portable photo booth to our array of services! Within seconds of taking pictures, your guests will have a strip of high-quality photos to immediately take with them!

Our photo booth is LARGE with a LARGE viewing screen that will display everyone in the image so you know exactly how your photos will look. All you do is step into the photo booth, line up, choose color or black & white photos, and press the button when you’re ready to have your picture taken. It’s that simple. Two strips of four photos will be taken and the photos measure approximately 2" x 6" in size and will be ready in seconds!

The A-1 Photo Booth is especially popular for wedding receptions. Instead of purchasing special candy or buying a small gift for your guests, our photo booth will provides high quality photos, creating a perfect party favor or wedding memento for your guests. Everyone entering the photo booth can have fun and can take as many photos with as many different people that they like. Once you book the A-1 Photo Booth, all prints are included at no charge to your guests and they can keep coming back for more photos as often as you’d like to allow.

For brides and grooms, you’ll also be provided with a complete set of all of the photos taken at your party on a disc for you to view or have printed any time you wish. It’s a great way to create memories on perhaps the biggest day of your life.

To add fun and excitement, we bring along a crate full of props, ranging from crazy hats and glasses, colorful boas, musical instruments, and much more.

We also offer an open air photo booth, which will allow groups of 6, 12, 20, or more to be photographed together. The open air photo booth is perfect for outdoor events where you wish to showcase a background.

Everything is included in our packages – we come in, set up the photo booth, and provide an attendant to guide everyone through the steps. Upon completion, we pack up everything and take it away!

The A-1 Photo Booth pictures are high-quality photos, just like you’d have processed at a photo lab. No ink jet printing is used, thus the color will be accurate and more importantly, they will not smudge or run like ink jet pictures tend to do.
